The Joy of Friday

There is no other day like Friday. It's always been my favorite day of the week as I suspect it is for many.
The Joy of Friday
The promise of a whole 48 free hours ahead of you is almost better than the actual experience of the weekend itself. Take for example the fact that on Saturday mornings there is no need to set an alarm. In theory that means that I can wake up whenever I want, but ever since the birth of Iomi, not having an alarm set means nothing since her idea of a sleep-in is to wake up at 8...But that's why Friday is so beautiful in it's promise of maybe. Because maybe, tomorrow Iomi will wake up at 8.30... or perhaps even at 9.
The same goes for the weekend in whole. Two whole days free sound on Friday like a mini vacation, but as you reach Sunday night all those projects, chores and correspondence you were so sure you were going to catch up on, remains on top of the to do list, and what happened during those two days in between is somewhat of a mystery. I dwell on that mystery now. I know there is tons of laundry, paperwork and house cleaning to do but for now all I see from my Friday high chair is empty hours, yoga, reading and sipping Margaritas by the pool, even though I have no pool or tequila at home. I know I'll have to fill them up with at least some minutes, I know, but I don't wanna know and for some 20 more minutes or so I'll dream of two days of holy holiday, that's the joy of Friday night
