Twelve years a married couple...
dhammalogue no.17
Jenny: Congratulations my love. Yesterday was our 12 year wedding anniversary. The 23rd of May 2003 we declared to the civil officiant of Stockholm city hall that we had all the intention to make this relationship last a lifetime. How do you think we're doing?

Igor: I know you much better than then and still want to be your partner. I love you much more than then and still want to help you be happy. I am less scared of drifting away from each other which means that I can enjoy and see you enjoy the freedom within our relationship. So, I' d say that even though married life is far from easy, we are doing well my dear.

J: I agree to all that you say, and I am so happy to be married to you. The years have kneaded, cornered and ultimately strengthened our bond. I honestly didn't think a relationship this profoundly loving was possible. Had I suppose like many do, a blueprint version of marriage where difficulty, challenge and uncomfortable truths were simply swept under the carpet, building walls of bitter resentment. The only other alternative (outside of Hollywoods happy endings) seemed to be one of endless arguments which eventually led to divorce. To have the pleasure of experiencing one so real and at the same time extraordinary is really something I am eternally grateful for.

I suppose part of the reason why we're doing well is because we've always had honest, straightforward communication. And that is mainly because of you, I was such a solo player and so wary of people that it in the beginning felt terrifying to open my heart to you and let all of me come forth. But thanks to your stubborn probing and steadfastness it is now one of the aspects of life I most appreciate, that of honest straightforward no bullshit communication. So thank you so much for giving me the ability to open up and for loving me regardless of my garbage throughout all these albeit glorious but not exactly easy years.

I: Thanks, I'd like to meet one day the Igor from your blog, he sounds awesome... In reality it is as much your work as it is mine. You are a fantastic woman, all effort to try to know you and love you is more than worth it. I really hope we get many more years together, I love you without reservation. Thank you more please.

J: yes, here's to many more!
